Every year, the GLOBE makes room for approximately 30 incoming freshmen. In addition, a smaller number of upperclassmen are often able to join depending on room availability. All first-year applicants must go through the same entry process, which involves writing and submitting three short answers regarding their views on global affairs, cultures, perspectives, and/or other relevant topics. The application is only the three short answers: we require no recommendations or other requirements for consideration.

Students may remain on the floor for up to their entire undergraduate career, so long as they stay involved with the GLOBE’s community and its official events. However, most students who enter the GLOBE as incoming freshmen at Penn State will often stay an average of two or three years on the floor before moving off campus, while others will stay the full four years.
