Globies went on a hike to Stone Valley at the beginning of the school year, it was a great opportunity to connect with and get to know fellow globies.
Lunar New Year Celebration
In collaboration with IMAS, the GLOBE hosted a Lunar New Year celebration where students created lanterns and tasted traditional Lunar New Year treats.
International Night of Music
Partnering with the Music Service Club, the GLOBE hosted an international night of music, which featured musical performances, dances, and presentations by students.
Globies on the Go - New York
The GLOBE hosted a trip to New York city to visit the Met and the broader Manhattan area, followed by an international dinner in Astoria.
International Food Night
GLOBE sponsored an international food night where globies presented cuisine from their personal cultural heritage.
Filipino Line Dancing Night 2022 & 2023
In 2022 and 2023, the GLOBE hosted a Filipino line dancing night in collaboration with the Penn State Filipino Association. The audience was taught foundations of line dancing and traditional Filipino folk dance.
Humphrey Fellows
On November 15th, 2022, the GLOBE had its annual dinner with the Humphrey Fellows. The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program at Penn State is a year-long professional development program that brings in professionals from around the world. GLOBE students interact with the Humphrey Fellows over a dinner to learn about their international experiences.
GLOBE Bake-Off
On January 14th, 2023, when the GLOBE students came back after the winter break, they baked recipes from around the world in the GLOBE’s very own kitchen.
Cultural Cooking Collaboration with Abby-Gail Blanchard
On February 25th, Abby-Gail Blanchard, one of the Humphrey Fellows, was kind enough to return to the GLOBE and teach our Globies how to cook a traditional Indonesian Peanut Butter Chicken soup.
